About Concours dâ??Elegance

Welcome to PCA’s most prestigious show of cars, the PCA National Concours d ’Elegance.

The Porsche Parade Concours d’Elegance is the premier Parade event and arguably the highlight of Parade week. It features Porsche cars of all ages, colors, makes, and models. From meticulous restorations to daily drivers, Parade attendees have been participating in this grand tradition for over 65 years. It truly is the best of best within PCA.

Concours d'Elegance can sound intimidating for the first-time participant. Trust us, it's not!  Cars are organized based on a year and model, so you are competing against Porsches similar to your own. There are four main groups in the Parade Concours d'Elegance:

Preparation Groups I and II: This is the most popular Concours group. Cleanliness and preparation are the keys to winning. In the Preparation groups, it does not matter whether the car is original. The year and model of your Porsche will determine if you are in Group I or II.  Within the Preparation Groups, there are two classes:

  • Street: This is the best class to start in if you are new to Concours, and the perfect class for daily-driven Porsches. Judges only look at the interior and the exterior of the car.

  • Touring: This class is a level up from the Street class. Once you have participated in a few Concours, the Touring class is the next step. Here, the judges look at all aspects of the car, except for the undercarriage. In Group II the engine is also not judged.

Preservation Group: This group is for cars maintained in their original condition, with evidence that the car has been reasonably driven and not simply stored. The car will be evaluated against the Kardex, Certificate of Authenticity, or the original Monroney Label (window sticker). Entrants are required to produce one of these documents to be judged in this group. In the Preservation Group, judges will look at all areas of the car. This group is primarily for Porsche models that have been out of production at least 20 years.

Restoration Group: This group is for cars that have been restored or rebuilt. Cars are expected to be period correct. For example, a car may have new paint, so long as the paint color is appropriate for the year of the car.

To determine the correct class in which to enter your Porsche, refer to the 2025 Parade Competition Rules (PCRs) section of this website. All classes are listed under “APPENDIX II - Concours Organization Chart". The PCR Committee Chair can assist with any questions. In addition, follow this link to the Parade Concours Class Decision Tree Tool.

The Concours Class Awards will again be presented the day of the Concours.

The Group, People’s Choice, Honorary Judge’s Choice, and special awards for Level of Achievement will be presented Tuesday evening at the Porsche Concours d ’Elegance and National Awards Banquet. The prestigious Porsche Classic Originale Awards are once again returning and will be presented at the banquet. These are judged and awarded by Porsche Classic from Porsche Cars North America.

Returning for 2025 is the Concours d'Elegance Corral. Parade attendees not entered in the Concours are encouraged to drive their Porsche to the site of the Concours and park in a dedicated area for Porsches that is adjacent to The Pavilion building, site of the Concours d'Elegance.

We are excited to provide a dedicated indoor air-conditioned facility for both Concours Prep and the Concours d'Elegance at Parade this year. These will be held at The Pavilion building of the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds - less than 10 minutes from the Omni Hotel. A shuttle service will be running on a schedule Friday through Monday between the two locations. Concours entrants will be able to stage their Porsche starting Friday morning at the space where it will be judged and do not need to move it until after the Concours on Monday. Please refer to the Concours Prep web page for further details.

If you want to get started, or just brush up on the world of Concours, consider attending the Concours 101 class. It’s a perfect way to learn from the Pros about anything Concours.  We’ve got a separate web page just for that HERE.

We will once again
offer the popular one-on-one Concours Coaching sessions on Friday and Saturday before Parade week in the Concours Prep area (reservations are required). See the separate web page for further details.

New this year at Parade, we will be offering an Introduction to Concours Judging seminar on Saturday, July 5th, in the Concours Prep area. Any PCA member interested in learning what it takes to judge at a Concours is welcome to attend. This seminar will focus on the role of the judge at a Concours and the judging of the exterior, interior and storage areas. See the separate web page for further information.

We will once again be providing a number of resources in advance of Parade, which you can find HERE. These will include videos and white papers on the How To's and Best Practices of Concours and Preparation. Stop back regularly as we continue to add these resources.

Go ahead, enter today. Once you compete in a National Concours, you’ll be hooked!

The Historics Display at the Concours d'Elegance will present cars and people with historical significance to the history of PCA. If you have a Porsche with a memorable story to be part of the Historics Display, please contact Lori Schutz for consideration (lori.schutz@outlook.com). Refer to the Historics Display web page for further details.

If you’re not competing in the Concours, plan early to walk this incredible event. Cars will be staged on the OKC Fairgrounds, The Pavilion builiding early Monday morning of Parade week (July 7) with judging beginning promptly at 8:30 am. Arrive early and wear your walking shoes, as you won’t want to miss a single car. Don't forget to stick around for the award ceremony starting at 1:30 pm.

Plan on making a day of it at the 2025 Porsche Parade Concours d ’Elegance.
