Parade Volunteers
IMPORTANT - Volunteer Signup will take place during Phase II Registration in May!
What is the most fun thing to do at Porsche Parade? Volunteer to work an event.
The Porsche Parade is 99% volunteer-supported! Working a couple of shifts during Parade week is how each of us from all over the country gets to know other PCA members from across the country.
Volunteers are needed to fill numerous tasks to ensure each Parade event runs smoothly.
Volunteer Information – general description of the responsibilities within each worker area:
5K Run/Walk: Assist with setup, cleanup, and ensuring participants stay on route. Saturday morning is the last day of Parade.
Art Show: Help receive the artwork, secure it, and monitor the Art Show Room. Remove displays and close the art show at the end of the event. The art show is open all days of the Parade and needs volunteers on Sunday and Monday for setup.
Autocross: Set up the course, grid, work course, assist timing and scoring, hand out supplies, help with final tech, control traffic, and clean up afterward. Tuesday afternoon, all day Wednesday, and Thursday.
Banquets: Set up and decorate for the banquets, take tickets, etc. Shifts are Sunday night and mid-day Monday, as well as Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
Concours d ’Elegance: Field layout, car placements, field marshals, traffic control, runners/timers, scoring. Concours Judges must be pre-approved by the Head Judge.
Concours Prep: Help organize the car cleaning area for Concours participants and general Parade participants. These volunteer shifts are easy if you arrive early to the Parade, Friday through Sunday, before Sunday Parade Check-In.
Equipment: Help deliver, place, and collect supplies for events. Solid and able-bodied workers are recommended for this area. Shifts are available Monday through Saturday. Closed-toed shoes are required for the shift.
Gimmick Rally: Assist at the starting tent, collect score sheets, and tally scoring—shifts on Thursday only.
Historic Display: Monitor the participants viewing the classic street and racing cars. Shifts are on Monday only.
Historical & Technical Quiz: Greet entrants; hand out quizzes; monitor, collect, and score. Friday morning.
Hospitality: Greet and assist visitors, provide information, and serve drinks and snacks. Work is done in shifts Monday through Saturday morning and indoors.
Hydration: Help deliver water and ice at various outdoor events. Able-bodied workers are recommended. Shifts are available Monday through Saturday.
Juniors @ Parade: Help set up and run the Parade Kids and Youth activities. Shifts are available all days.
Background Check for Juniors @ Parade Volunteers
PCA will conduct background checks for all Parade Kids Volunteers, consistent with many other service organizations. If you are interested in volunteering for Parade Kids, PCA will send you a link to complete the background check at a later time. You will be asked to fill in your name, social security number, and residence address for the past seven years. A third-party agency will conduct all Background Checks. The reports generated may contain verification of identity and information regarding any federal or local criminal history. Personal data will not be collected or retained by PCA. If you were approved via a background check within the last four years, you would not have to submit to another one this year.
Parade 101/Info: Help answer questions and direct participants. Shifts are available all days.
Parade Check-In: Check-in registered entrants, work at various event tables, hand out Parade Bags, assign banquet seating, etc. The recommended work shift is for those arriving early on Saturday before Sunday check-in. Shift to indoors only on Sunday.
Note: Volunteering to work Check-In will not get you into Check-In early on Saturday.
Parade Store: Setup/takedown displays, cash register checkout, counter help, sales help, stocking, inventory, door duty, packing, etc. Shifts are available Saturday through Saturday. Strong and able-bodied workers are needed.
Parking Control: Direct vehicles to the correct parking areas as entrants arrive at Parade Headquarters. Primarily, this involves directing people to various parking lots and helping with the trailer parking on Saturday and Sunday.
R/C Cars: Help set up the course, run timing, and registration—shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tech Tactics: Assist speakers, monitor, work A/V equipment, and help with refreshments. Friday shifts only.
PCA Sim Racing: Help participants check in, assisting Test Drive participants into their systems with basic orientation and meet & greet. Shifts Sunday through Friday.
Tours: Tour volunteers assist in organizing the cars into groups and acting as tour group leaders and/or sweepers. For bus tours, volunteers ensure that only people who have signed up for that tour are allowed on the bus. You may also serve as the tour coordinator, ensuring everyone is present, accounted for, and back on the bus to return to Parade headquarters. Shifts are available Tuesday through Saturday, and you must sign up for the tour you intend to volunteer for.
Trophies & Awards: Unbox and organize trophies and awards, transport trophies to banquet locations, and late trophy pickup. Shifts are available on all days except Thursday.
TSD Rally: Checkpoint/control workers, start/finish, staging, scoring, etc. Shifts on Tuesday only.
Welcome Tent: Greet and assist entrants as they arrive at the resort. We need workers who plan to arrive early to the resort so they can work Saturday and Sunday shifts, which will be outside.
