Event schedule and location information
The RC Car Competition will once again be made up of 2 separate events this year:
The exciting On-Road event, which takes place indoors on Tuesday, July 8th.
· We’ll run heats of 3 – 5 cars, providing fun competition for the drivers and exciting action for spectators. This will be paired up with our Ice Cream social and will be held in the Scissortail Terrace Prefunction Room in the Omni hotel on Level 2.
The next day we will spotlight the challenging Off-Road event, which will take place outdoors on Wednesday, July 9th.
· We'll run heats of 2 cars on a challenging outdoor dirt, grass, or mountainous course, offering entrants the perfect opportunity to drive one of our outrageous, off-road monster Cayenne’s. The Off-Road Competition will be held at Scissortail Park - Main Stage across the street from the Omni hotel.
Awards will be presented to the top winners in each driving class. PLUS, once again this year we'll be presenting awards for the Fastest Family in each event. To qualify, each family must consist of at least one adult and one child. This has become a great tradition, and as an added bonus, these two awards will be given out to the families at the Friday Night Banquet.
Everyone is welcome to bring your own on- or off-road RC car for the events, however, it must have a replica body of any Porsche model (911, Cayenne, etc.). Our competition is primarily made up of 1/10th-scale vehicles, but smaller or larger-scale cars are welcome.
Don't have an RC car? No problem, we'll offer shared loaners for both events.
For each event, classes will be established based on entrant turnout to provide everyone a fun and fair experience.
If you've ever thought about driving a radio-controlled car, this is your opportunity! Whether you're interested in on-road cars that can do 30+mph, or an off-road machine that can catch some air and keep rolling. Come join in the RC excitement!
Both events are open to Parade entrants of all ages, making this the perfect event for the entire family! Come join in one, or better yet, both RC events.
